You have a purpose: Win Souls and Make Disciples..

The Great Commission

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

DO YOU BEAR FRUITS?

Ate Mutya once said, "you can fake the Holy Spirit, but you cannot fake the fruits"

What does this fruit means?

Lets look at John 15:1-6

Joh 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
Joh 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Joh 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
Joh 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

According to some versions of the Bible, the vine represents a GRAPEVINE..
So Let's first discuss what are the characteristics of a vine?

A vine is a plant that has a habit of trailing, that is climbing or crawling.. A vine also enables plants to colonize large areas quickly. Most vines were also flowering plants. And let's relate this one to a vine that produces fruit, it means, more flowers more fruits right?

So in parallel to the scripture, Jesus is the true vine. Jesus is the one that will produce fruits. According to the bible, indeed Jesus is a fruitful vine. He had his 12 Apostles, He had his disciples. These people were the fruits of Christ.

What do we mean by fruits?
Basically we know fruits a a product of a tree, or any fruit bearing plant. For example, an apple tree bears Apples. An orange tree bears Oranges, Grapevine bears Grapes. An apple tree doesn't bear Oranges, A grapevine doesn't bear Apples, and so on..

So what does the scripture tells us when we say We need to bear fruits? if we won't we will be cut off from the vine?

As discussed Jesus is the true vine and Jesus must bear fruits. He indeed bear fruits that are Christ like. And we, as His disciples must also bear fruits like us. And we should follow the true vine in order for us to be fruitful as well.. We should win souls and disciple them.

I once asked a friend, do you bear fruits?
She answered, "Yes I will bear fruits soon.. I will produce Godly children after I can find my husband."

Well, indeed she will bear fruits. But the question will now be, WHAT IF SHE IS BARREN? or HER HUSBAND IS? They can't bear fruits. and according to the scripture, those who doesn't bear fruits will be cut off in the true vine and will be thrown into fire (and it represents HELL).

Isn't it unfair to those people? But God revealed to me that it was not just about Biological Fruits, but Spiritual Fruits. We could bear fruits by winning people. He/She may be our brothers, our relatives, our friends, or even our enemies.

So this is now the point.. A lot of people say they are Christians but their actions define them not. In my journey as a Christian, I've faced a lot of people who were like such. I admit my actions sometimes contradict to what Christians should be, but atleast I am honest and I know my limitations and already asked forgiveness for those things.. Wherein there were people who were INDEED DEVOTED to their so called RELIGION that they forget that they need to focus on their RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. Their actions were like the pharisees and sadducees during the time of Jesus that were focus on the Rituals and Laws that were given to the Israelites knowing that by following those things will give them Salvation. They were like hypocrites that they like people see them worship the Lord with their religious activities, yet after doing such they will go back to their old self and go sinning again. They were blinded and deceived by the enemy that they thought their Faith is right and they try to twist the ideas of the bible into ideas that are pleasant to their ears. If they can hear preachings that is contradictory to what being fed to them, they would easily utter things that ,"they dont have the right to say that", "that preaching is wrong", "this is right", etc..

Haven't you asked yourself why there were people who ables to build big churches, yet they don't able to feed the poor? What if someday, Jesus will tell us, "I WILL ABOLISH RELIGION", so if there's no religion, no more traditional rituals done, you won't be able to praise God? Indeed religion teaches us spiritual things, grace, mercy, praise, worship, but let's ask, what are they PRACTICING? And you know what's the problem with religion? It doesn't get to the Core of our hearts. Its just like a cloak that is covering us that we may look nice outside, yet were rotten inside. Now what's your RELIGION tells you about bearing fruits?

Ok lets go back to the idea of fruits cause I think I am about to go outside the boundary already.

Let us convince ourselves that what you are believing is true. but the question now will be, DO YOU BEAR GOOD FRUITS? (Fruits that would bear fruits as well? Fruits that are willing to give it all for Christ? Fruits that were humble enough to say that they are not worthy to be saved, yet by our Lords grace we were?)

Its not about who you are, but its about who your fruits are. And your fruits will will be the answer to this question "ARE YOU A GENUINE CHRISTIAN?"
