You have a purpose: Win Souls and Make Disciples..

The Great Commission

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

TSITB or TBITS??

Choose among the two..

1. To see is to believe
2. To believe is to see

In my own perspective, I'd rather choose the later..
TO BELIEVE IS TO SEE.. And that's FAITH.

^_^ makes sense?

So blessed..

"Mag minister ka adi ha.."

These were the very words I've heard when Pastor Joel asked me to do ministering during the last session in the encounter..

Shocked with what I've heard, I said these..
"Kaya na nako tor?"

Then our pastor insisted.. And said that just let the Holy Spirit use me.

I believe that the Holy Spirit really exist. Yet, there's still "HuHs? and AAhhs?" or the the Whys and Hows regarding of my capability as a minister. But it didn't hinder me to do the things our pastor wants me to do.. So I just let him pray for me..

"You have given the authority ...(blah blah blah di ko na matandaan what cnbi no toro).." all I know that when I heard the word AUTHORITY, I realized that Jesus entrusted me a big responsibility during that very time, and all I know that tears were already falling from my eyes.. Tears of Joy knowing that our God/Jesus believed in me. I just said to myself, let God's will be done..

So here is it na, ministering time na.. I doubt that I could not do it. I doubt that I might be the reason why He would miss one of the Big Events in his life, and I doubt that I could be the very reason why He can't be filled with the spirit..

As the scripture said, "Faith without action is Dead.", I said to myself I need to do this..
And so I did.. I prayed, and laid my hand to one of the participants of the encounter.. Just amazed of what happened, that person upon touching his forehead, He was slain.

Then God said, "Just believe".. and so I did.. I tried it FOUR TIMES, and all of them had the same manifestations..

Now I proved to myself, that the spirit is in me.. And will always be with me..

So happy and blessed that even though I am on the 144 level in our church, I manage to do things the Primary 12 are supposedly doing. I am so happy and blessed that 3 of my classmates encountered and loved God. I am so happy and blessed that I already had my 2 disciples.
And so happy and blessed that our pastor trusted me of such responsibility. So happy and blessed that the holy spirit did not fail me, that the spirit lives within me..

And so happy that indeed, the Holy Spirit, loves me ^^

First Timer..

All of us had their firsts.

First time to go to school, first time to do things unordinary, first time to be in another city, first time to be on a plane, first time to cruise on a ship, and the likes..

I'm going to share about my first time to be in a boarding house.

In my five years of being a college student, and my last semester is about to end for about 2-3 months from now, I will be experiencing to sleep in another house. I mean, we rented a house and I consider it being in a boarding house.

I'm too excited for the experience I will be experiencing in this kind of venture.. I've known a lot of people sleeping in such place, and now, I am really doing it my own.

By the way, I'm with my two classmates and another 2 upper classmen. We rented a house to focus on our designs and other requirements for us to finish our course before graduation day.
Well, right now I'm nervous for the things that will happen, and of course for our safety.

Well, I just want to describe the house now.. It is a big orange house surrounded by concrete walls with a metallic gate colored pink. ^^ It has a spacious room (which ginawa naming sala) and 2 rooms (na ginawa naming bedrooms ^^).

There was a living room set..(SOFA lng daw eh) and a computer table inside..
In the rooms, there were 3 beds and I am occupying one right now.

Indeed a good place to stay with. But right now I have a big problem, the noise of the DOGS.. they keep on barking even there's no one around. SABA KAAYO AS IN! haha

Maybe its just at the beginning.. They will be used to us too, and they will treat us like their masters.. ^_^

Un lng muna.. More experiences to share with..
I just pray that we could win the souls of our fellow housemates.. ^_^
IN JESUS NAME WE WILL! hehe

For the vision ^^

We were once told,
"A GOAL WITHOUT A DEADLINE IS JUST A WISH"

now, what really is my goal?
As a Christian in the G12 vision, and as 144 of our church, we set a goal to have our 12 by July 2012..

I'm so eager to achieve this goal. Indeed wanted to reach this dream of mine. To have my 12.

I will now ask God, to give me these people right now.
I'm claiming and pulling them down from the heavenly realms.

To Kenneth, Herman, Dave, Gyle, Seigmer, Christian, Jay-ar,
Encountering God is far from hearing and feeling Him.
And it was really a battle to join this life changing event.
As the day approaches, Satan will try His VERY BEST to give worldly situations that would keep you from attending the encounter.. And it will be your choice..

I know Satan will use all your worries to keep you from attending, (Work, Studies, Friends, Family, etc..) but i just want to share this one..

"Mat 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
Mat 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Mat 6:27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[2] ?
Mat 6:28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Mat 6:29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Mat 6:31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
Mat 6:32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
Mat 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Mat 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

IN JESUS' NAME! MAY MAG ENCOUNTER JUD SA ILAHA!

1 > 4 > 1

Mathematically this equation would really be true..

4 is indeed greater than 1.
4 person can do better than 1. (Most of the time)
4 computers can perform a task faster than 1 (same specifications).
4 people eager to graduate would really make a design faster than a single person can.

I would like to mention my classmates and groupmates for making our Industrial Plant Design finished faster than it is supposed to be..

Thank you Lester for the motivation, maskin ginakapoy nko, I know how you badly needed to graduate and so are we, but you gave me hope once again.. ^^

Thank you Joie for the effort and the push.. ^^ You're the one who taught me how to value TIME.. Haha

Thank you Von kay isa ka sa mga inspiration nko.. Seeing my brother do what is supposed to be done, would trigger me as well to do the same. Even though our time is really constraint, yet we still manage to do lot of stuffs.

And thank you Oliver, no comment. (unta c Denxo or Marnel nlng to naa diri hahaha joke)

And Lastly, Thank you Lord for these people. Thank you for the motivation, inspiration and love.. ^^ Love you Jesus! Indeed You alone is better and sufficient than the four of us. By just trusting and having faith in you, we could do this!
We'll gonna KEEP ON!

FACE to FACE

While I was having my meryenda, I turned on the TV and luckily, FACE TO FACE by TV5 network was on the screen.

The episode's story was about a Man who is already married to his Wife, yet managed to commit adultery to her. The sad thing, the 3rd party was his wife's sister.

They have been in the said hidden relationship for almost 5 years (with the kabit) and the man had already 6 children with his wife.

The show really wants to give insights to the sister of the man's wife that what they are doing is wrong and will never be right, but the girl insisted that he really loved the man. And so is the man that he doesn't want to break up with his kabit and he chose her rather than his wife.

I was so amazed with the wife's attitude that she was so silent the whole episode that most of the time the one talking in behalf of her was her daughter.

It was always been a part of the show that at the end of the episode that both sides will say something or have a message with each other. When the Host of the show asked the girl whether she would like to break up the relationship with her sister's husband, she strongly say NO.
Do you know what happened? I was shocked with the wife's reaction. She just nodded with tears to what her sister had said. And you could really see a heart that accepts everything just because she loved not only her husband, but also her sister.

And what amazed me most? when she said "Ok lng. Hindi naman sa ibang tao xa pumunta. Kapatid ko naman yan." then tears fell on her eyes..

Suddenly, a tear fell on mine as well..

Pondering on the situation,

Indeed when we are young, we really like to share toys with our sisters/brothers. But when we are old, I guess sharing a loved one is a taboo. Things like this happen rampantly specially in our generation, and it is a hurtful feeling. But do you know what's more hurtful? It is when the one doing such foolishness is the one you loved most and you are the one being fooled.

In the situation I don't know what the wife really felt during the episode, she loved her sister. She loved her husband. No matter what happen, your sister will always be your sister, and your brother will always be your brother. And regarding your husband/wife, you are united with him/her as what God had said what marriage is all about. I just admire how she manage to control herself and how she showed compassion and love to those people.

And for the man and his concubine, they might not fear the people around them or the law regarding the things they have done, but they must always put in their mind that they should fear God, for what the people and the law don't know about them, God knows all of those stuffs. And for whatever things they did, there are corresponding consequences. And I do believe that someday or somehow, all of us will going to meet God, FACE TO FACE. And I just pray that when that happens, we are all blameless and stainless in front of Him..

REALLY?

I'm happy to see people trying to spread the Good News to people using Social Networking Sites, Blog Sites and the likes.
I guess its really a great opportunity for us, as servants of the Lord, to share his Words thru this medium.

Right now I would just like to ask a simple Question.

"DO YOU BELIEVE THE BIBLE?"

If you say NO, I'd like to help you by reading this blog. "http://sultanvon.blogspot.com/2012/01/bible-is-it-trustworthy.html?spref=fb"

If you say YES, I'd like to ask another question,

"DO YOU FOLLOW THE BIBLE?"
If you say YES, well, really? REFLECT..

If you say NO, why? and again, REFLECT..

Routines.. ^_^

Have you ever wonder what were the things you do first thing in the morning? Or let us say first thing of your day?

Just want to share you some of mine..

They may not be in order but these is what I do, MOSTLY after i wake up after a long sleep.

1. Check the TIME
[During weekdays if the time is not yet 8am, i will go back to sleep. If it is weekend, mind me! I don't care about the time. I even manage to sleep the whole day even without eating.. ^^]

2. Check my messages
[I am a text addict. Whether I like it or not, text messages received in a day would range about 100-200 messages, now you would ask me where does these messages came from? I am a member of several text clans.. ^^ Sometimes they are annoying, but most of the time, they make me happy.]

3. Do my devotional
[At first I really had a hard time doing this thing. It is not part of my daily routine before to wake-up early (literally not!) and read the bible and journalize everything that is being revealed. But I guess after a year of doing this, doing my devotional is now part of my routine and it is now easy to do this thing and now hard to miss one.]

4. Roll over my bed
[I just don't know but I guess i had this mannerism of Rolling over my bed.. ^_^ Not literally roll, but if you will observe me, you would say that I already had my 360]

5. Turning On my laptop
[Well, aside from the things stated above, who would dis-agree that I'm an internet person? Facebook, Twitter, Ikariam(buhi pa diay ni? haha), and now, BLOGGING]

6. Sleeping once again
[I hate to admit it but this is my weakness.. SLEEPING.. And I like it.. :)) ]

Now I just want to share what I did.
1. Checked the time
2. Check my phone messages
3. Do my devotional
4. Turn on my lappy
5. Will now go to sleep ^^

I guess before sleeping I could find myself rolling over first.. ^^

How productive I am!!

Around 12MN(Jan 14)
Bennah sent a message asking where I am at this very moment.. I answered "I'm home".
She told me she wants to eat sundae and asked if I could go with her, and since I liked the idea I said "Yes"

About 4AM
We've had a lot of chitchats and we didn't notice that it was already 4 o'clock in the morning.. So we decided to part ways and go home.

About 5AM
I finished my blog about BAPTISM. And by that time I slept.

About 11AM
I woke up. And instead of getting up, I still forced my body to sleep. And indeed I fell asleep.

About 3PM
When I realized I have a thing to do. I read the Bible and have my devotional. Guess what? After doing such, I slept once again.

About 6PM
I felt so weak that I need to force myself to get up and do my stuff.. (Personal hygiene stuffs). Then I ate dinner and poof. I went back to my room, opened my laptop and spent a lot of time to Facebook.

About 8PM
I decided to make the Chapter 6 of our ME198 design. Sad to say, I just read the OT and did nothing. I decided to make it sunday after the evening service..^^

About 9PM
I started to lie down on my bed and started texting. ^_^ Reading text messages was indeed one of my stress reliever.. And pondering about God's words, singing songs, etc. And again, texting..

About 12MN (Jan 15)
Realizing that I'm so bored and I need to sleep.. Since I can't sleep, I turned on my lappy and opened the Facebook once again, and here doing nothing.

I just don't know what time will I sleep once again.
There's one thing for sure.. I won't wake up early this morning..
And what a productive day I had!!

Whew..

DO YOU BEAR FRUITS?

Ate Mutya once said, "you can fake the Holy Spirit, but you cannot fake the fruits"

What does this fruit means?

Lets look at John 15:1-6

Joh 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
Joh 15:2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Joh 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
Joh 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Joh 15:6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

According to some versions of the Bible, the vine represents a GRAPEVINE..
So Let's first discuss what are the characteristics of a vine?

A vine is a plant that has a habit of trailing, that is climbing or crawling.. A vine also enables plants to colonize large areas quickly. Most vines were also flowering plants. And let's relate this one to a vine that produces fruit, it means, more flowers more fruits right?

So in parallel to the scripture, Jesus is the true vine. Jesus is the one that will produce fruits. According to the bible, indeed Jesus is a fruitful vine. He had his 12 Apostles, He had his disciples. These people were the fruits of Christ.

What do we mean by fruits?
Basically we know fruits a a product of a tree, or any fruit bearing plant. For example, an apple tree bears Apples. An orange tree bears Oranges, Grapevine bears Grapes. An apple tree doesn't bear Oranges, A grapevine doesn't bear Apples, and so on..

So what does the scripture tells us when we say We need to bear fruits? if we won't we will be cut off from the vine?

As discussed Jesus is the true vine and Jesus must bear fruits. He indeed bear fruits that are Christ like. And we, as His disciples must also bear fruits like us. And we should follow the true vine in order for us to be fruitful as well.. We should win souls and disciple them.

I once asked a friend, do you bear fruits?
She answered, "Yes I will bear fruits soon.. I will produce Godly children after I can find my husband."

Well, indeed she will bear fruits. But the question will now be, WHAT IF SHE IS BARREN? or HER HUSBAND IS? They can't bear fruits. and according to the scripture, those who doesn't bear fruits will be cut off in the true vine and will be thrown into fire (and it represents HELL).

Isn't it unfair to those people? But God revealed to me that it was not just about Biological Fruits, but Spiritual Fruits. We could bear fruits by winning people. He/She may be our brothers, our relatives, our friends, or even our enemies.

So this is now the point.. A lot of people say they are Christians but their actions define them not. In my journey as a Christian, I've faced a lot of people who were like such. I admit my actions sometimes contradict to what Christians should be, but atleast I am honest and I know my limitations and already asked forgiveness for those things.. Wherein there were people who were INDEED DEVOTED to their so called RELIGION that they forget that they need to focus on their RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. Their actions were like the pharisees and sadducees during the time of Jesus that were focus on the Rituals and Laws that were given to the Israelites knowing that by following those things will give them Salvation. They were like hypocrites that they like people see them worship the Lord with their religious activities, yet after doing such they will go back to their old self and go sinning again. They were blinded and deceived by the enemy that they thought their Faith is right and they try to twist the ideas of the bible into ideas that are pleasant to their ears. If they can hear preachings that is contradictory to what being fed to them, they would easily utter things that ,"they dont have the right to say that", "that preaching is wrong", "this is right", etc..

Haven't you asked yourself why there were people who ables to build big churches, yet they don't able to feed the poor? What if someday, Jesus will tell us, "I WILL ABOLISH RELIGION", so if there's no religion, no more traditional rituals done, you won't be able to praise God? Indeed religion teaches us spiritual things, grace, mercy, praise, worship, but let's ask, what are they PRACTICING? And you know what's the problem with religion? It doesn't get to the Core of our hearts. Its just like a cloak that is covering us that we may look nice outside, yet were rotten inside. Now what's your RELIGION tells you about bearing fruits?

Ok lets go back to the idea of fruits cause I think I am about to go outside the boundary already.

Let us convince ourselves that what you are believing is true. but the question now will be, DO YOU BEAR GOOD FRUITS? (Fruits that would bear fruits as well? Fruits that are willing to give it all for Christ? Fruits that were humble enough to say that they are not worthy to be saved, yet by our Lords grace we were?)

Its not about who you are, but its about who your fruits are. And your fruits will will be the answer to this question "ARE YOU A GENUINE CHRISTIAN?"

Being Baptized..

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
[Matthew 28:19]

Indeed Win Souls and Make Disciple..
That's the great commission..

But first, let us answer this question,
What is Baptism?

Christian denominations differ on their teachings regarding baptism. Others believe baptism to be washing away of SIN. Some believe baptism as an important step of obedience in the life of a believer, yet just an acknowledgment and public declaration of accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior. But always remember that baptism itself has no power to cleanse or save us from sin.

Baptism comes from the original Greek work "Baptizo" which means to wet or submerge, this is totally done by submerging the person totally in water. The idea also is the union of someone or something. We can also say that this is our public confession that we are dead with Jesus to our sins.

Why do we need to be baptized?
We should understand first that it is a commandment that implies that you identifying yourself with Christ as Lord with his death and resurrection to a new life. Indeed,, being baptized is being disciples of Christ.

Being baptized is a CHOICE.
So if someone asked you and you answered "Yes, when I was a baby I was baptized", please be corrected. You were just dedicated to Jesus.. Baptism is your choice, not your parent's choice nor your friends, nor by anyone. Baptism is done by people who are on the stage of making decisions. Right decisions.. Remember that Christ was baptized when he was about 30 years old not when He was a baby.

We also need to BELIEVE.
Belief comes before baptism. According to the scripture "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved but whoever does not believe will be condemned" [Mark 16:16]
NOTE: Again, baptism will not make you clean nor will give you salvation. And as the scripture says, if we believe, we could be baptized and be saved. But if we don't believe, even though we are baptized, we will be condemned and will suffer from the eternal punishment.

Aside from being a commandment, why do we need to be baptized? Well, there were also benefits if we follow God's command. Just like parents giving rewards to their children when they do something that would give them joy.

1. Heavens Open
Just like after Jesus was baptized by John that the heaven was opened. It only means that we can have a direct relationship with God. We could communicate and talk to Him directly. No need for us to pray from any statues or what ever they call a visual art, and the likes. No need to pray that the dead people will pray for us, for the reason that we ourselves could directly talk to God. It was indeed a good practice that other people will intercede for you, but praying for them to pray for you? I guess that's another thing.

2. The Holy Spirit comes upon your life.
"For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ" [Galatians 3:27]

3. The voice of God comes to the heart
Like Jesus, after being baptized, the Lord talk to him and say "This is my Son, whom I am very pleased", we could even hear those words from our hearts that our Father in heaven is telling us if and only if our hearts were genuine upon doing the baptism. Having a repentant heart and a heart that believes.

So why do I need to tell this one? Well, I just want to share this to everyone.
And if you would ask me what happened to my life during baptism and after baptism, well, I felt so light that I think all the burdens in my life were washed away. There is also a proud feeling that I can say to the public that Jesus is my Lord and I am His son. I'm very happy during that time. And knowing what's next? Indeed blessing were showered upon my life. Although trials do exist, yet I can say that my Father in heaven is always there with me, guiding me what to do, and always backing me up when it seems that I can't do it anymore. My faith grew stronger. And many more!

Its like a fulfillment of one of God's promise. That if we are going to remain with God, His word remains in us, and whatever we ask from Him, will be given. Just like parents to their own children. If the child is following what the parents instruct their child to do, they will not hesitate to give their child whatever He want as a prize for his/her obedience. And those rewards were being experienced by Me right now and I'm waiting for more. ^^ Cause I know I had followed Jesus, and will continue to follow Him..

Thanks for reading! ^_^

My definition of Faith..

According Mr. Dictionary, FAITH is defined as Trust or Confidence in a person or in an entity.
Some define Faith as Hope, Trust or Belief.

But for me what really is faith?

Of the definition stated above, I do agree that it is a Trust of Confidence in a person or in an entity.
For example, I have faith in my friend that he could do something or the likes. As well as I have Faith in God that He would really fulfill His promises to each and every child of Him.
How about hope?
Yes indeed Faith also motivates me to have hope. Hope for a better me. Hope of being a prosperous son of God. Hope of receiving all God's Promises. Hope that someday I will be in his kingdom together with my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Now let's go to belief..
In my own perception, Faith is far different from belief.
You can believe and don't posses any faith on it. Yet if you have faith, its impossible that you don't believe. Its like the difference of Square and Rectangle. Square is always a Rectangle, yet a Rectangle is not always a Square. (makes sense? ^_^)

Let's have another illustration..

There were things that happen that no once could ever explain (for example Miracles), if you don't have faith, you would really don't belief on such happenings. But if you have faith, no doubt, you would instantly believe that its God's works. Another example is that, people who doesn't have faith would really stand on the TO SEE IS TO BELIEVE idea, yet those who have faith, would really believe even though they don't see it.

Let's proceed to a more complicated situation,
MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT..
I would like to ask an apology for those who can't relate yet to this one, but for Christians (real Christians) knows and would really agree to what I will be saying.

According to the Scriptures, there were lot of manifestations of the holy spirit if you receive it. And being filled with the holy Spirit would edify your spiritual life. How amazing that feeling will be. Before experiencing such, you would really desire it first. Empty your spiritual vessel and be ready to be filled. Fast blowing of air (like strong breeze of a wind), Bright Flash of light that you would see even though your eyes is closed, Tickling feeling in your tummy, You would cry and cry and cry not knowing the reason, Laugh hilariously...

There is also the gifting of the Holy Spirit, where people speak in tongues, prophecy, discern, and even have amazing faith.

I've been a Christian for quite a long time.
And I've already faced many Holy Spirit session, and personally, I haven't experienced all the stuffs I had mention above. I always desire to experience these things. Cause my friends even some of my spiritual sisters and brothers experienced these things. And indeed their faith grew stronger than before. But how about me? Instead of increasing the Faith I had, I'm afraid to admit every session I felt my faith diminished. But how could I ever explain all the things I've witnessed myself?

I just always convinced myself that all these things that are happening are True. And always convince myself that there are always reason for everything. Maybe right now I don't know yet and could not comprehend everything but I just believe in myself that GOD'S WAYS, NOT OUR WAYS.. And convince myself that even though I haven't really experienced these things it doesn't mean there's no Holy Spirit that is filling my vessel. It's just a lie and deception of the enemy.

So that's FAITH means to me. Continue to run the race even though you really don't know where and how to end. Just believing and hoping that there's really an end and wonderful things and wonderful prize awaits us if we reach the finish line.

^_^

Again?

A big big hypocrite I was when I say I would like to do the blogging once again.
Yet what now? ^^

Its like doing your devotional..
Its like doing something important that would really be difficult cause its not part of your daily routine. (At some point)

But I always say this to my mind..
Routine is always difficult in the beginning yet it will be easy after doing such.
Now the battle will be upon APPLICATION..

And indeed it is very easy to say than to do it. Its easy for me cause there's always someone listening on every ideas that my mind would pop, and my mouth would blurt..
But how about what i had written in my header? What if there's no one who would listen? And indeed I really need to express this one? Whew.. Indeed this is one way of blurting this out.

WRITING..
I just hope that there is someone listening to all the things (nonsense maybe) I am saying.. ^^

Well, i guess so much for today.. ^^
Thanks for dropping by by the way..

Godbless
